Zoezi la kuhesabu kura linaendelea nchini Nigeria, kufuatia uchaguzi wa Rais, Makamu wa Rais, Wabunge na Maseneta uliofanyika hapo jana.

Zoezi hilo la kuhesabu kura linafanyika katika vituo 176, 846 vilivyotumika kupigia kura, ambapo baada ya kujulimlishwa matokeo yatatumwa Makao Makuu ya Tume ya Uchaguzi ya Nigeria yaliyopo katika mji mkuu wa nchi hiyo Abuja.

Maafisa wa Tume ya Uchaguzi ya Nigeria wamesema, kwa nafasi ya Urais hawategemei matokeo ya awali ya uchaguzi huo kutoka mapema pengine ni kuanzia siku ya Jumanne.

Muhammadu Buhari ambaye anaondoka madarakani baada ya kuhudumu kwa mihula miwili, kila muhula ukiwa ni miaka minne. 

Hata hivyo ni wagombea watatu tu ndio wanaopewa nafasi kubwa ya ushindi ambao ni Bola Tinubu ambaye ni Gavana wa chama tawala nchini humo cha APC na pia amewahi kuwa Gavana wa jimbo la Lagos. 

Wengine ni Atiku Abubakar ambaye amewahi kuwa Makamu wa Rais wa Nigeria na anawania kiti cha Urais kupitia chama kikuu cha upinzani cha PDP, ikiwa ni mara yake ya sita kuwania kiti hicho. 

Mgombea mwingine anayepewa nafasi ya kushinda ni Peter Obi, Gavana wa zamani wa jimbo la Anambra na ni mgombea kutoka chama cha Leba ambaye anaungwa mkono zaidi na vijana. 

Mshindi wa kiti cha Urais nchini Nigeria atatakiwa kupata asilimia 25 ya kura zote zilizopigwa katika majimbo 24 kati ya 36 ya nchi hiyo na endapo hakutakuwa na mshindi, kutakuwa na duru ya pili ya uchaguzi itakayofanyika baada ya siku 21 kati ya mshindi wa kwanza na wa pili.
